Edgar Allan Poe, master of the Gothic and the macabre, penned some of the most startling and enduring dark tales in all of fiction. In this program, author and historian Joshua Rex performs “The Tell-Tale Heart” and “The Masque of the Red Death,” and “The Raven” from memory. Rex discusses Poe’s life in context with the Victorian Era, and provides details about his work in order to illuminate the deeper meaning behind each piece. The evening ends with a Q&A and discussion session. Typically the program runs around an hour, and is perfect for September and October, but also any time of year – everyone loves Poe! This program can also be broken up into individual performances to fit your event/venue’s specific needs. Please inquire for details.
